Carter Collins

Being openly gay has led Carter Collins to many different experiences that have made him a stronger gay man. He felt free after telling classmates that he’s gay and was no longer hiding or lying.

Carter opened minds in his community by volunteering through 4-H, St. Patrick’s Catholic Youth Group and Franklin County Arts Council. He opened hearts and minds at the Catholic Church his family attends by coming out and sharing his story.

Carter will attend Iowa State University and plans to support Iowa State University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Student Services activities. He is excited to help lead support groups and help with safe zones and presentations.
