Who Qualifies?
Openly LGBT Iowa high school seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, an ACT score of 22 or better, demonstratable LGBT activism and community service, and a history of high moral and ethical standards and conduct.
Application Process
You may submit either the online or offline application. The online application is electronically submitted and available at eychanerfoundation.org. The offline version must be printed and completed then mailed. Those using the online application process will receive an automatic email notification of your successful online portion submittal, which you should keep as proof of filing along with a copy of your completed application.
You must submit your application prior to or on the deadline date. Your application will not be considered unless all materials are received by the deadline.
Application deadline is March 15, 2012. Applications will only be considered if all supplemental materials (see below) are postmarked by March 15, 2012.
Finalists will be notified by phone of interview times and dates.
Supplemental Materials
All applications require additional supplemental materials to be complete. Please note requirements below, as you will need to begin gathering your material in advance in order to make the deadline. The scholarship committee will not accept late materials, and late applications will be removed from consideration.
The following materials must be sent to the address below.
- Application Certification Page signed and dated with classification circled.
- At least two (2) and no more than three (3) Letters of Recommendation. Two must be from teachers.
- School Certification Page completed, signed and dated by appropriate school employee.
- Official school transcripts from your current school showing your complete high school record.
- Verification of any/all test scores that you included in your application if not listed on your transcript.
- A copy of your SAR or FAFSA.
