Each year the scholarship committee awards one or more scholarships covering tuition, fees and books, renewable for up to four years, to minority students (as to sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, and/or physical challenge) who will attend Northern Illinois University. Scholarship awards are based on academic aptitude, academic achievement, community service and financial need.

Each scholarship is renewable annually for up to four years upon evidence of academic progress, regular volunteer activities and regular updates to the scholarship committee.
